I have recently discovered a God send! To me anyway, and I wanted to share it. Something that causes me problems is my hair. I have long hair that is curly, and I only ever wear it straight. It uses up so much precious energy trying to wash it and style it with such limited energy and weak arms. I also have very greasy hair, even just after I wash it...
I recently became aware of 'Dry Shampoo'. Now, apparently this has been around for a long time, but I only heard about it recently. It comes in a spray can like hair spray. You basically spray it in to unwashed/greasy hair and it gets rid of all the grease. It is great!!!!! I now only have to wash it once a week!!! Apparently the less you wash your hair the better it is for your hair anyway.
The product I use isn't expensive and has been SO helpful. There are many times when I could go out for an hour and I haven't as my hair is horribly greasy, and too hard to manage effort wise.
I just thought I would share this to any of you who haven't heard of it. The product I use is Bastie. Link here.
I hope this has helped someone...
I hope you are all ok...
Treya : )
Also, my friend who told me about it has blonde hair(I have brown). She said she now just uses Talcon powder which works just as well and is less expensive. I think in brown hair it might make it look grey. But if you have blonde hair its an option.
ReplyDeleteHIya, I use this as well, it's great isn't it.
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah : ) Yes it is indeed!!! THanks for reading my blog and taking the time to comment.
ReplyDeleteI was just going on about the high maintenance of my hair because I also straighten my hair and it's also very, very thick. Washing, drying and then straightening sometimes is all I can do in a day. Other times I can get all sorts of things done, however it may not be in sync with my wash the hair schedule.
ReplyDeleteDoes using the dry shampoo get rid of the "dirty hair" enough that it's no longer a problem for acne? I don't have acne issues at all, however the longer I go without washing my hair, and let's face it, we all know when our hair is starting to get offensive, the more prone I am to getting a nasty rogue pimple from probably my pillow case. Those who do have acne issues are told to wash their hair often because greasy hair begets pimples from your pillowcase. I wash my hair at least every 4-5 days and I am also sure to wash my pillowcases with every hair wash cycle.
What do you think? Would the dry shampoo eliminate the grease enough to avoid the acne issue?
By the way, if I used talcum powder within a 1 mile perimeter of my home my larynx would go into turbo collapse mode. So, kudos to your friend. Scents are so irritating to my condition.
Great blog, by the way.

Hey Jenji : ) It gets rid of all the grease! However, I have to spray a lot on at once. But that gets rid of all grease. It definitely would prevent grease from going on the pillow. Sometimes I actually spray it on before bed and leave it in for the night and rube the excess off with a towel the next morning. That's interesting about spots and pillow case. I am prone to a few spots on my face. This is a good thing to know running up to my wedding.
ReplyDeleteIf you are sensitive to chemicals perhaps the dry shampoo might bot be the best idea...
Thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to leave a comment!
Hiya,
ReplyDeleteYes, that was my other question: does it have any sort of perfumy smell? Odors light my symptoms up.
jenji
The product I have smells a bit like Talcon powder... But it's very mild. I reckon it is probably considered odorless... I have also just bought one with coconut odor. You should try searching the different ones available. I'm sure there is an odorless one.
